Cow Says
Cow Says! is a joyful exploration of sibling bonding through animal sounds. As they encounter different animals, one sibling leaps with excitement while the other reacts with surprise, laughter, or tears, inviting young readers to join their adventure. This playful story weaves animal sounds into vibrant shared experiences filled with fun and discovery.

In this project with GetLitt Publications, the picture book was created to familiarise kids (0-3yrs) with animals and their sounds.
Recognising the caregivers who accompany infants while reading stories, this book aims to actively involve said caregivers in the “play” of reading, making the book an active tool of interaction between the two readers as they go through the “silly-goofy” story.

As the two protagonists go on an adventure with different animals, the baby and the toddler in the story experience a series of emotional highs and lows while interacting with the animals, inadvertently bringing the siblings closer.
As the story focuses on the onomatopoeic words within the script, the composition was also shaped around it, putting typography at the forefront while using the other illustrative components as supportive elements.
However, while the text does play a crucial role in the story, as the illustrator of the story, I wanted the readers to go a bit further than the written text and have a more holistic reading experience, therefore incorporating a storyline apart from the script about the opposing experiences with the animals by the two siblings, their comfort with them, and how they both come together towards the conclusion of the story.
