Zero's Judgement
In the math lab, numbers 1 to 9 are arguing over who is the most important. They turn to Zero, dismissing her as worthless, but she has a clever plan! Through a game of musical chairs, Zero shows them how place value changes their worth based on position. The numbers realize they all play a vital role in math. A fun and engaging story that makes math exciting for young readers!

In partnership with Room to Read, this picture book makes math more engaging by exploring face and place value through the game of musical chairs. As numbers shift seats, they discover how their values change with position.

Amid the classroom chaos, Zero—often dismissed as the “least” important number—emerges as the unexpected hero. Using quick thinking and problem-solving, she guides the others through their confusion.
Play is at the heart of this whimsical take on math. Characters resemble classic school supplies like colored pencils and a black pen, while nostalgic classroom elements—coveted graph paper, neatly wrapped notebooks, and doodled-on pages—bring the setting to life.
In this project with GetLitt Publications, the picture book was created to familiarise kids (0-3yrs) with animals and their sounds.
Recognising the caregivers who accompany infants while reading stories, this book aims to actively involve said caregivers in the “play” of reading, making the book an active tool of interaction between the two readers as they go through the “silly-goofy” story.
